Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Frisco at PGA Parkway is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ED, PRN Nights. The new Frisco facility will support emergency, inpatient, procedural, and women and children departments.

Responsibilities include creating care plans, collaborating with the care team, and delivering patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. 2 years ED experience preferred. On-site role with weekend and holiday shifts as noted.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited course or have at least 2 years of experience surpassing the minimal qualification required.
• Field of Study: The applicable major should be nursing.
• A minimum of 2 years in a relevant role is expected.
• Certification: Hold a BLS certificate now or obtain within 30 days of starting in this role.
• Registered Nurse License

• Observe indicators closely, support evidence-based changes with research and hands-on learning.
• Create a caring, safe environment for patients, families, and staff.
• Build relationships with boundaries in mind. Focus on managing emotional and physical pain to promote healing and reduce suffering.
• Facilitate learning for all members of the healthcare team, including patients, families, and nursing staff, ensuring everyone is well-informed.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and the community to develop and execute an integrated plan of care.
• Use problem-solving strategies and utilize available resources to support patients, family and staff as part of a systems thinking approach.

Join us in an extraordinary opportunity to be at the forefront of our new hospital in Frisco, Texas. Our new facility, spanning 340,000 square feet, will introduce a state-of-the-art facility, tailored to accommodate the evolving needs of our rapidly growing population. Among its highlights, the facility will house crucial departments such as emergency, inpatient, procedural, and women and children.

Shift

PRN Nights, 7p-7a; 6 shifts total in a 6-week period; two shifts would be a weekend (Saturday or Sunday); 1 major holiday and 1 minor holiday

Requirements

2 years recent/current ED experience in an acute care setting

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse on Unit is a key player in patient care management, following our nursing practice model. They work with other health care staff to deliver patient care effectively. Our Registered Nurses use the nursing process efficiently. They diagnose patient responses to health issues and create care plans accordingly. It includes evaluating healthcare needs and responses.

• Effective communication skills, along with social aptitude for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
• Possessing critical thinking and problem-solving skills is crucial.
• Capability to identify and report changes in patient conditions, develop, and modify patient care plans as required.
• Basic computer skills necessary for day-to-day assignments.
