Job summary

Kedrion Biopharma Inc. in Altoona, PA is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Specialty Programs team. You will evaluate donor eligibility, manage donor safety, and ensure regulatory compliance in a fast-paced plasma collection setting.

As the on-site clinical expert, you’ll educate donors, administer immunizations when needed, respond to reactions, and maintain accurate documentation. A strong patient-care orientation and knowledge of FDA/OSHA guidelines are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be a currently Registered Nurse in good standing in the state
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current CPR certification
• High school diploma, or equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Experience in plasma or blood collection is a plus
• Familiarity with FDA, OSHA, CLIA, and cGMP regulations is beneficial
• Comfortable in a regulated environment with exposure to bloodborne pathogens and cold storage areas

Responsibilities

• Conduct donor eligibility assessments for plasmapheresis and immunization programs
• Review donor health history and lab results to determine suitability
• Educate donors on the donation process, risks, benefits, and informed consent
• Administer immunizations and monitor adverse responses
• Respond to donor reactions and escalate when necessary
• Maintain emergency medical equipment and readiness
• Notify donors of positive viral marker results and provide counseling
• Participate in safety committee activities and staff education
• Manage employee immunization programs and ensure SOP compliance
• Assist with plasmapheresis and whole blood procedures
• Maintain donor charts and review medical incidents
• Promote donor retention with a welcoming experience
