Job summary

AdventHealth Tampa is seeking a Registered Nurse with dialysis experience to join our full‑time daytime team. You will provide critical acute nursing care, perform patient assessments, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians to ensure safe, timely dialysis treatment and patient comfort.

Requirements include an RN license (Florida), Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Nursing, BLS, and dialysis or acute inpatient experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's or higher in Nursing required.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license with Florida approval.
• Experience in dialysis nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicates courteously with patients and colleagues and supports patient flow.
• Collaborates with co-workers and departments to ensure timely dialysis care.
• Performs dialysis-related nursing tasks, equipment checks, and patient assessments.
• Administers medications and monitors blood pressures, labs, and dialysate.
• Documents nursing notes after dialysis and communicates with physicians.

Job Description

Communicates courteously with internal and external customers, demonstrating respect and developing positive working relationships. Collaborates with co-workers and other departments to assist with patient flow and ensure timely procedural care. Considers safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice when delivering nursing services and ordering supplies. Rinses, primes, and positions equipment, attaches tubing, prepares dialysate, calibrates alarms, sets monitors, and performs system checks. Provides critical acute nursing care to ensure patient safety, comfort, and well-being. Performs patient assessments prior to treatment and proceeds based on assessments and physician’s orders. Obtains blood samples and other specimens as indicated or ordered. Administers medications, blood, and blood products as ordered by the physician and according to policies. Assesses and provides care for patients related to blood pressure, weight changes, access patency, lab values, dialysate composition, and fluid flows. Completes nursing notes after every dialysis treatment and communicates with the physician and primary nurse as needed. Cleans and dresses access sites and other wounds using appropriate aseptic techniques. Participates in patient and family teaching regarding dialysis treatment and dietary recommendations. Other duties as assigned.
