Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, FL is seeking a registered nurse with dialysis experience to provide critical care to dialysis patients, perform clinical assessments, and support patient safety and comfort. You will prepare dialysate, position equipment, and assist with procedural nursing duties under physician orders.

Requirements include RN licensure, Associate's degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred), and 1+ year of RN experience with dialysis exposure.

Job Description:

Communicates courteously with internal and external customers, demonstrating respect and developing positive working relationships. Collaborates with co-workers and other departments to assist with patient flow and ensure timely procedural care. Considers safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice when delivering nursing services and ordering supplies. Rinses, primes, and positions equipment, attaches tubing, prepares dialysate, calibrates alarms, sets monitors, and performs system checks. Provides critical acute nursing care to ensure patient safety, comfort, and well-being. Performs patient assessments prior to treatment and proceeds based on assessments and physician’s orders. Obtains blood samples and other specimens as indicated or ordered. Administer medications, blood, and blood products as ordered by the physician and according to policies. Assess and provide care for patients related to blood pressure, weight changes, access patency, lab values, dialysate composition, and fluid flows. Complete nursing notes after every dialysis treatment and communicate with the physician and primary nurse as needed. Clean and dress access sites and other wounds using appropriate aseptic techniques. Participate in patient and family teaching regarding dialysis treatment and dietary recommendations. Other duties as assigned.
