Job summary

Mercy Hospital Springfield (Neurology 6C) seeks a dedicated RN for full-time 3‑shift rotation, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM. The unit cares for head, neck and spine injuries, and the role includes teaching students when present.

Responsibilities include direct patient care across ages, coordinating with departments, and adhering to Mercy nursing standards and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (associate's degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Must hold active RN license in Missouri and/or compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; others may be required per unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for all ages with planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Coordinate with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort.
• Adhere to nursing practice standards and Mercy policies.

Position Details

Mercy Hospital Springfield - Neurology 6C

Full-Time: 3 - 12-hour shifts rotation

0630 to 1900

This unit takes care of patients with head, neck and spine injuries. This position would be a hybrid teacher and floor nurse (when no students are present). We are looking for those that love to teach.

Overview:

Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups to include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice, the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, Mercy Code of Conduct, Mercy Mission and Values and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (associate's degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
• One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe:
• - ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• - NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• - ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
• - TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
