Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking an RN Day Surgery for Medical City Heart & Spine Hospitals in Dallas. The role focuses on evaluating patients pre-operatively, educating families, and preparing patients with IV therapy and medications.

You’ll participate in surgical site verification and work with a dynamic interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality care. You will round with unit leaders, handle on-call duties during select non-business hours, and contribute to continuous improvement in

Qualifications

• ACLS within 1 year of start date.
• BLS within 30 days of start date.
• RN licensure and practice as an RN.
• Minimum of 1 year nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education about the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy, preoperative meds and site verification.
• Participate in universal protocols and surgical site verification.
• Identify and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and participate in evidence-based practice.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including providers and surgeons.
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking and clinical leadership to patient care.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes and care provided.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment and follow-up.
