Job summary

HCA Healthcare's Medical City Heart & Spine Hospitals in Dallas seeks an experienced RN to join the Day Surgery team. You will evaluate patients pre- and post-operatively, educate families, and manage IV therapy, preop meds, and site verification.

You will work within a dynamic surgical team to ensure safe, evidence-based practice and continuous improvement. You will collaborate with physicians, surgical staff, and nursing leadership to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• RN license and nursing degree required.
• ACLS within 1 year of start date; BLS within 30 days.
• Experience in perioperative or surgical services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education for peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative meds.
• Support surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and participate in improvements.
• Work with an interdisciplinary team including surgeons and technologists.
• Apply nursing process with critical thinking and leadership.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes accurately.
• Educate patients and families about treatment and follow-up.
