Medical City Dallas is seeking an experienced RN for the Operating Room to join our full-time surgical team. This role offers day shifts and a stable 8-hour schedule with on-site work, opportunities for mentorship, and educational support through HCA Healthcare’s network.

Qualifications

• RN (Registered Nurse) with active license.
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• 2+ years in a hospital setting required.
• 1+ years in OR required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including intravenous therapy and preoperative medications; verify surgical site.
• Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, and debriefing per hospital policy.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while applying evidence-based practices.
• Be an integral member of a multidisciplinary team in the OR.
• Apply the nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe care.
• Assess patient condition, monitor and document changes throughout shift.
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment and follow-up.
