Job summary

Great River Health Systems in Fort Madison, IA seeks an RN to provide patient care using the nursing process, coordinating with the health care team and involving patients and families in care decisions. Duties include assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of care and education according to policy.

The role requires an ADN/ASN with RN licensure, Bachelors preferred, and completion of BLS (and ACLS within 1 year).

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
• Current RN licensure in Iowa; MOAB within 1 year of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS within 1 year of hire required/expected.
• Experience in acute care, telemetry or med-surg settings is implied by duties.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient condition and document results.
• Administer prescribed medications per policy and six rights.
• Educate patients and families to promote self-care and discharge planning.
• Document all aspects of the nursing process clearly and timely.
• Collaborate with the health care team and advocate for patients.
