Job summary

Great River Health in Mount Pleasant, IA, is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide bedside care and manage the nursing process for assigned units. You will assess patients, administer medications, document thoroughly, and educate patients and families as part of a coordinated health care team.

Role requires ADN with BSN preferred, and shifts are 2:00pm–10:30pm with ever other weekend and holiday rotation. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred for advancement and broader scope.
• Thorough knowledge of nursing process and patient care standards.
• Strong communication, documentation, and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient condition, document results, and communicate with physicians.
• Administer medications following the six rights and hospital policies.
• Perform patient care tasks including wound care and hygiene assistance.
• Prepare patients for exams and tests, explain procedures to patients.
• Collect lab samples and manage specimen labeling and transport.
• Develop and adjust individualized care plans and discharge plans.
• Coordinate with health care team and participate in treatment conferences.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and patient education.
