The Registered Nurse will provide specialized care in the CVICU, treating adults and geriatrics. Patients are admitted from the operating room and are sedated, intubated, and may require Swan-Ganz catheters and other complex devices.
Responsibilities include monitoring multiple infusions, titrating medications, and collaborating with IV staff, respiratory, and physical therapy teams in a high‑acuity environment with 1–2 patient ratios.

Description:The Registered Nurse will provide care in the CVICU.Patients in the CVICU will be adults and geriatrics.The unit receives patients directly from the operating room.Patients will be sedated, intubated, and may have a Swan-Ganz catheter.Multiple medication infusions are expected for patient management.The patient-to-nurse ratio will be 1-2.Special equipment frequently used includes Swan-Ganz catheters, temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, Impella devices, IABP, CRRT, and ventilators.Nurses will be responsible for monitoring and titrating various medications.The ideal candidate will have experience in managing complex patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure.The role requires interaction with interdisciplinary teams, including IV staff, respiratory services, and physical therapy.Additional responsibilities include managing arterial lines, administering blood products, and providing care for ventilated patients.The unit will have a daily census of 2-5 patients.Specialties treated include post-cardiac surgery patients and those requiring care for cardiovascular complications.
