Job summary

Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, AL seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for CV Stepdown on a full-time weekend night schedule (Fri–Sun, 7pm–7am) on the 10th floor. Sign-on bonus of $5,000 and student loan contribution up to $20,000 are offered. RN licensure, BCLS, and ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities include care coordination, assessments, medications, and patient education. Ideal candidates possess 0–2 years in clinical nursing or student rotations, strong teamwork, and commitment to patient

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of clinical nursing experience or student rotations in acute care.
• RN licensure in state or compact required.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and document findings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care using the nursing process.
• Conduct thorough assessments and report condition changes to the care team.
• Provide age-appropriate care and education based on patient needs.
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects as per policy.
• Assist physicians during procedures within competency scope.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Respond to emergencies with CPR and code team involvement.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, plans, and discharge care.
• Maintain infection control practices and a safe environment.
