Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the CV Stepdown unit. This full-time Weekend Nights role (Fri, Sat, Sun, 7pm-7am) centers on patient-centered care using the nursing process and collaborative teamwork.

The position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus, student loan contribution up to $20k, and additional incentives including medical, vision, dental, and 401k match for both full- and part-time roles.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with policies and the nursing process.
• Conducts thorough patient assessments and documents findings, reporting changes promptly.
• Administers prescribed medications and monitors for side effects.
• Assists physicians during procedures within competency and scope.
• Develops and evaluates individualized care plans with the healthcare team.
• Responds to medical emergencies and participates in CPR and code team activities.
• Educates patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
• Maintains infection control practices and monitors medical equipment for safety.
• Ensures patient safety and adherence to National Patient Safety Goals.
• Documents care and education in the medical record; participates in quality improvement.
