Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 5W Teaching and Innovation Unit. The RN will deliver patient-centered care in the Critical Care unit, working within a teaching/learning environment that emphasizes new technologies and innovative workflows.

We require MA RN licensure or eligibility, BLS (ACLS in certain areas), and a nursing degree with BSN preferred. The schedule is a 24-hour shift with nights and every third weekend; relocation and comprehensive benefits are

Qualifications

• Must hold Massachusetts RN license or be eligible to obtain one.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification required; ACLS in certain units.
• Diploma, ASN or BSN nursing degree; BSN preferred with ability to obtain within 4 years.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Critical Care unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC's nursing organization.
• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects.
