Job summary

Carilion Clinic seeks an experienced RN for the Critical Care unit at CNRVMC in Christiansburg, VA. This full-time night shift opportunity requires a Virginia RN license or eligibility, with a $15K sign-on bonus.

You will provide and coordinate age-appropriate care, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and document care in the EMR system. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, and supporting education for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program.
• Current Virginia RN license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• AHA BLS-HCP required; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required based on work area.
• Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including EMR use.

Responsibilities

RN Opportunity with Critical Care at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center (CNRVMC) in Christiansburg, VA

This position is full time, working nights 7pm-7am with every other weekend and rotating holidays

Responsibilities

• Provides individualized patient care and coordinates care delivery for patients of all ages.

• Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.
• Administers treatments and medications accurately and documents care in electronic medical records.
• Identifies and addresses patient and family education needs.
• Participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Advocates for patients and supports their rights and psychosocial needs.
• Applies knowledge of growth and development to provide age-appropriate care.
• Demonstrates clinical expertise in dynamic and changing care environments.
• Implements strategies to improve patient outcomes and resource utilization.
• Serves as a role model and supports development of peers and team members.
• Manages resources, prioritizes tasks, and adapts to changing patient care needs.
• Supports orientation and training of new employees.
• Uses problem-solving skills to address patient care and operational challenges.
• Provides feedback and participates in shared decision-making activities.
• Supports education activities within the department.
• Maintains confidentiality and complies with regulatory and organizational standards.

What We Require

• Education: Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.
• Experience: None.
• Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required or eligibility to obtain licensure required.
• Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.
• Other Minimum Qualifications: Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records. For Behavioral Health roles, must demonstrate ability to safely manage disruptive or potentially violent patients.

Compensation Range

$33.52 - $50.28 Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
