Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Registered Nurse for full-time day or night shift at Kent County Jail. The RN delivers quality care within scope of practice and serves as patient advocate while promoting best practices.

Must have a nursing degree, active state license, CPR certification; correctional/behavioral health experience preferred but not required. The role includes administering medications, charting, coordinating with healthcare team, and ensuring safety.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university or have graduated from an approved RN program.
• Must possess a current license in this state.
• Experience in Correctional or behavioral health is desired but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, detailed patient records and reports.
• Administer medications and monitor for reactions and side effects.
• Record vital signs and patient information in the medical chart.
• Coordinate with the healthcare team to assess, plan, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Supervise or delegate nursing activities appropriate to scope of practice.
• Prepare patients for examinations or treatments and provide patient education.
