Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a dedicated nursing professional to conduct health promotion activities and support physician staff at corporate wellness events. This role requires a graduate of an accredited nursing school with a current RN license and 3 years of experience. This role involves health promotion activities, including screenings at corporate wellness events, to promote the organization, its facilities, and partner facilities. The position provides physician staff support to both corporate clients and the community, assists licensed and ancillary team members, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams for health fairs, screenings, and education events. The role involves providing care, clinical expertise, and education to screening participants, with sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity. The employee maintains involvement in activities aligned with departmental strategic goals and demonstrates professional responsibility and accountability, supporting the company's nursing philosophy.

Education

  • Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Work Experience

  • Required: 3 years of nursing experience.

Certifications

  • Required: Current RN license in the state of practice.
  • Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Job Duties

  • Conduct health promotion activities, including screenings, at wellness events for organizational and community benefit.
  • Maintain professional development, clinical knowledge, skills, and credentials.
  • Participate in projects to improve service quality and provide feedback for departmental enhancement.
  • Assess clients’ health status considering physiological, psychosocial, emotional, cultural, and spiritual factors; provide appropriate care.
  • Evaluate learning needs and implement suitable teaching strategies for diverse groups.
  • Adapt behavior and communication style to respect patient privacy and cultural differences.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

All responsibilities are subject to change, and compliance with relevant laws and standards is mandatory.

The physical demands include exerting force (20-50 pounds occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently), with frequent travel using personal vehicle, and exposure to blood and bodily fluids. The role involves working in patient care areas with occupational risks for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials.
