Job summary

TriStar Skyline Medical Center is seeking an RN Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator to lead trauma program reviews, analyze system performance, and drive improvements to patient care. You will collaborate with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Director to ensure care meets ACS standards and supports trauma center verification.

Qualifications

• RN—Registered Nurse is required.
• Associate Degree is required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• TNCC certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• ACLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Review trauma cases in real time and retrospectively to assess quality and timeliness.
• Identify and validate performance-improvement opportunities and adverse events; support action plans.
• Coordinate and document Trauma PIPS activities, PI events, data elements, and registry information for compliance.
• Prepare and present cases, trends, and quality findings for PI, peer review, and trauma operations meetings.
• Educate clinical teams, residents, EMS, and outlying facilities on trauma PI principles and best practices.
• Collaborate on guideline development, research initiatives, and verification preparation across the trauma service line.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As an RN Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator, you will lead the Trauma Program's work to keep care safe and high‑quality from the time a patient arrives until they leave the hospital. You will work with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Director to review cases, analyze system performance, and use data to make changes that improve patient care. Your role ensures care meets national ACS standards, supports program requirements, and shows our commitment to providing safe, reliable, and high‑quality trauma care.

Your role will include:

• Reviewing and analyzingtrauma cases—both in real time and retrospectively to assess quality, timeliness, adherence to guidelines, and alignment with ACS and state standards
• Identifyingandvalidatingperformance-improvement opportunities, adverse events, and system issues, and supporting action plans that drive measurable, closed-loop improvements
• Coordinating and documentingTrauma PIPS activities, PI events, data elements, and registry information todemonstratecompliance and support trauma center verification
• Preparing and presentingselected cases, trends, and quality findings for multidisciplinary PI, peer review, and trauma operations meetings
• Educating and supportingclinical teams, residents, EMS agencies, and outlying facilities by sharing trauma PI principles, guidelines, and best practices
• Collaborating and contributingto guideline development, research initiatives, verification preparation, and ongoing improvements across the trauma service line

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree
• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course, or TNCC Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
