Job summary

TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Tennessee is seeking an RN Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator to lead the Trauma Program's work from patient arrival through discharge. You will review cases, analyze performance, and use data to drive improvements that meet ACS standards and support verification.

Collaborate with the Trauma Medical Director and PI team, present trends at meetings, educate clinical staff, EMS, and outlying facilities, and contribute to guideline development and research

Qualifications

  • RN license and Associate Degree required.
  • ACLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
  • BCLS instructor or equivalent must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
  • TNCC instructor or TNCC certification must be obtained within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze trauma cases in real time and retrospectively for quality and timeliness.
  • Identify and validate performance-improvement opportunities and adverse events with action plans.
  • Coordinate and document Trauma PI activities, events, data elements, and registry information for verification.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As an RN Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator, you will lead the Trauma Program's work to keep care safe and high‑quality from the time a patient arrives until they leave the hospital. You will work with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Director to review cases, analyze system performance, and use data to make changes that improve patient care. Your role ensures care meets national ACS standards, supports program requirements, and shows our commitment to providing safe, reliable, and high‑quality trauma care.

Your role will include:
  • Reviewing and analyzingtrauma cases—both in real time and retrospectively to assess quality, timeliness, adherence to guidelines, and alignment with ACS and state standards
  • Identifyingandvalidatingperformance-improvement opportunities, adverse events, and system issues, and supporting action plans that drive measurable, closed-loop improvements
  • Coordinating and documentingTrauma PIPS activities, PI events, data elements, and registry information todemonstratecompliance and support trauma center verification
  • Preparing and presentingselected cases, trends, and quality findings for multidisciplinary PI, peer review, and trauma operations meetings
  • Educating and supportingclinical teams, residents, EMS agencies, and outlying facilities by sharing trauma PI principles, guidelines, and best practices
  • Collaborating and contributingto guideline development, research initiatives, verification preparation, and ongoing improvements across the trauma service line
What qualifications you will need:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (RN) Registered Nurse
  • Associate Degree
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course, or TNCC Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
