Job summary

Jamestown Regional Medical Center in Jamestown, ND is seeking a registered nurse to coordinate total nursing care for patients of all ages, utilizing the nursing process and leading patient and family teaching. The role includes rotating day and night shifts, with 12-hour weekend requirements and an emphasis on safe, high-quality care.

You will collaborate with the hospital team, assess patient conditions, develop care plans, discharge planning, and participate in staff development.

Qualifications

• RN licensure from the ND State Board is required.
• PALS/ACLS certification is required for ED or ICU tracks.
• BLS CPR certification required for all staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the standards of nursing care and implement hospital policies.
• Provide direct patient care across ages using the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation).
• Assess patient condition considering age-specific needs and discharge planning.
• Develop a plan of care and prescribe nursing interventions to achieve outcomes.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and modify the plan as needed.
• Coordinate discharge planning and patient/family education.
• Record observations accurately and concisely for physicians and supervisors.
• Delegate nursing care to staff within scope and capabilities.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as ordered.
• Assist physicians with tests and procedures.
• Ensure equipment is clean and safe.
• Participate in orientation and performance evaluations of nursing staff.
• Coordinate care when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, families and staff.
