Job summary

Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD) in New Jersey seeks a dedicated RN Nurse to oversee medical care for residents in group homes. The role involves coordinating medical appointments, educating staff on individual health needs, and ensuring adherence to ISP/IDT plans.

Qualifications

Nursing degree and valid RN license required.
Minimum two years of nursing practice.
Certified American Red Cross FA and CPR trainer (instructor certification possible after hire).
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, individuals, families, visitors and staff.
Previous experience with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
Driver's license valid in the state and driving agency vehicles may be required.

Responsibilities

Oversee medical care for clients to ensure high-quality care.
Attend medical appointments with individuals and staff; participate in ISP and IDT meetings.
Review medical documentation and maintain EHR accuracy; prepare reports and trainings.
Provide training and supervision to staff; assist with ADLs and medication administration as needed.
Maintain daily written documentation to comply with Medicaid requirements.
