Position Summary

The Clinical Quality Specialist is responsible for modeling the Compassus values of Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, and Innovation, and for promoting the Compassus philosophy, using the 6 Pillars of Success as the foundation. S/he is responsible for upholding the Code of Ethical Conduct and for promoting positive working relationships within the company, among all departments, and all external stakeholders. The Clinical Quality Specialist primarily ensures the accurate entry of all Start of Episode and OASIS forms for patient charts and processes Home Health Director of Clinical Services workflows.

Position Specific Responsibilities

1. Complete or review all client medical records regarding OASIS.
2. Execute all OASIS reviews promptly.
3. Ensure compliance with OASIS time frames as required by law.
4. Perform OASIS activities in conjunction with field staff as appropriate.
5. Review and process the Home Health Director of Clinical Services workflow, including tasks related to start and resumption of episodes, OASIS review, and utilization.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• One (1) year experience in home health care required.
• QA experience in home health care preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records preferred.

Skills

• Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic math operations and compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
• Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional and governmental materials; write reports and correspondence; and present information effectively.
• Other Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in English and understanding of hospice philosophy.

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

• Active, unencumbered Multistate Compact Registered Nurse license required.
• Current COS-C certification required at hire or within 90 days.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The role requires regular standing, walking, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Visual acuity, including near and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment, are necessary. Accommodations can be made for disabilities.
