Job description

Title: RN, Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)

Location: Long Beach

Department: Inpatient Pediatrics

Status: Full Time

Shift: Days (8 hours)

Pay Range*: $63.35/hr to $90.51/hr

Bonus: [$10,000] signing bonus available to external hires new to MHS employment, contingent upon satisfaction of employment requirements

Position Summary

To ensure the provision of progressive, cost effective, quality patient care by advancing the level of nursing practice through expert practice, education, consultation, research and leadership in the spheres of:

  1. Patient/Family/Population
  2. Nurses/Nursing Practice
  3. Organization/System

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

Provides clinical expertise to direct the nursing process within the specialty population(s) on behalf of the patient and family.

Provides mentoring, coaching and collaboration to advance evidence based nursing practice.

Collaborates throughout the organization to identify opportunities and implement strategies to support clinical innovation.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

  • Three years related clinical experience in Pediatrics Hem/Oncology

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in California
  • MSN required
  • Certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist by the State of California
  • A current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR & AED) certification
  • A current America Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
