Job summary

Lexington Health in West Columbia, South Carolina is seeking an RN Clinical Mentor for the Intermediate ICU. This full-time, day-shift role coordinates orientation, training and competency validation for unit staff, providing ongoing leadership and guidance to the nursing team.

The mentor applies the nursing process to promote patient health, collaborates with physicians and a multidisciplinary team, and supports staff development while upholding state nursing practice standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• 2 years of experience in areas of specialty within the past 5 years.
• Current RN license to practice in South Carolina; national specialty certification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates orientation, training and competency validation of unit staff.
• Provides ongoing leadership, support and guidance to nursing staff.
• Uses nursing process to promote and restore patient health and collaborates with multidisciplinary team.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to standards of care and regulatory requirements.
• Mentors staff and contributes to unit standards and quality improvement.
