Job summary

UAB Nursing Education program seeks an RN Clinical Educator-SON to lead undergraduate student learning experiences focused on clinical competency. You will plan, teach, coach, and evaluate student performance in practicum and simulation labs, working with faculty and lab staff to ensure high-quality clinical education.

The role involves supervising students, validating skills, and coordinating clinical experiences on campus, with a strong emphasis on professional standards and timely feedback.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree in Nursing preferred. Only MSN preferred.
• A minimum of one year of clinical work experience in adult medical/surgical nursing required.
• Prior teaching experience is preferred.
• Registered Nurse (RN) is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement learning experiences for undergraduate students.
• Provide instruction, coaching and evaluation of student competency in clinical practicums and skills labs.
• Collaborate with faculty and skills lab staff for clinical learning experiences.
• Supervise students in clinical practicums and support simulation lab activities.
• Prepare and set up for clinical labs and simulations; model professional standards.
