Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Nurse Clinical Educator for the Family Birthing unit at Presbyterian Hospital. The Educator acts as consultant, researcher, instructional designer, and clinical practice expert supporting staff development across the enterprise.

Qualifications

  • State nursing licensure in New Mexico or compact state.
  • Associates degree in nursing required; higher degrees preferred.
  • Experience in education, nursing education, or instructional design is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Supports educational components of organizational clinical initiatives.
  • Designs instructional activities using learning needs assessments and evaluation methods.
  • Teaches, coaches, and leads projects to close performance gaps system-wide.

Our Clinical Education teamis currently hiring a Nurse Clinical Educator to join the Family Birthing unit at Presbyterian Hospital.


The Nurse Educator serves as consultant, researcher, instructional and evaluation designer, clinical practice expert, and interprofessional collaborator supporting the clinical development needs of staff throughout the PHS enterprise.

Responsibilities

The Nurse Clinical Educator supports the educational components of the organizations clinical initiatives and practices. Provides educational activities based on learning needs assessments, utilizing the right instructional design, training delivery, learning technology, and evaluation methodology to provide learning opportunities with high impact. Teaches and coaches learning / performance needs assessment. Leads projects to bridge performance gaps system-wide using optimal, budget-conscious instructional design, incorporating evidence-based data to structure instructional design and performance content. Identifies national trends in education design, measurement, and reporting outcomes. The educator may participate in local, state, and national speaking engagement.


Qualifications


  • Licensure: State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing required.

  • Academic Preparation: Associates Degree in Nursing required, Bachelors Degree in Nursing, Masters and Doctoral Degrees in Nursing, Nursing Education, Education, Instructional Design, informatics Business, Leadership, Informatics, or Administration preferred.

  • Specialty Certifications: Specialty certification in nursing, informatics, education or equivalent certification preferred

  • Professional Requirements/Emergency Response: Maintains current training in following: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, and other emergency response certification may be required depending upon area of assignment

  • Experience: Minimum At least 3 years of clinical care expertise required in clinical specialty. Family Birthing/OB experience preferred

  • In lieu of the 3 years experience, completion of an accredited nurse residency program, 1 year of Clinical Practice Lead experience, or prior educator experience.
