Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's Penrose Hospital Surgery Department in Colorado Springs is seeking an RN Clinical Coordinator to support the department director by coordinating clinical and departmental activities for the unit and serving as a vital clinical resource.

You will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, lead shift operations, assign duties, and collaborate with physicians and the patient care team to ensure high-quality care while upholding professional standards and ethical practice.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing or by endorsement.
• One year of clinical RN experience.
• RN license to practice in state of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data.
• Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provides leadership, support, and coordination of unit’s daily operations during designated shift.
• Assists in directing, organizing, and prioritizing all shift activities ensuring patient care and staff needs are met.
• Ensures appropriateness of admissions/cases to the unit/department and that appropriate staff skill mix exists to provide safe patient care.
• Liaison to the multidisciplinary patient care team.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our RN Clinical Coordinator, you will actively support the department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit, serving as a vital clinical resource and professional role model.

Every day you will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, ensure high-quality care delivery, act as a crucial link between physicians and the patient care team, authorize work procedures, assign duties, manage as shift charge, and actively take patient assignments based on unit needs and acuity, all while promoting patient well-being and adhering to professional standards.

To be successful in this role, you will be a Registered Nurse with exceptional clinical skills, strong leadership potential, superior communication and collaboration abilities, and an unwavering commitment to ethical practice, quality patient care, and a supportive team environment.

The Surgery Department at Penrose Hospital has 16 OR suites and performs 30-40 cases per day. We specialize in heart, vascular, general, gynecology, urology, ortho, spine, neuro, plastics, robotics, and trauma procedures on adult patients only. Our department's mission is to provide the best possible patient care. People would want to join our team due to teamwork, culture, and CNOR certification pay. Pay Range

$41.74 - $66.25 /hour
