St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, CO is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. You will provide direct patient advocacy, intraoperative support, and coordination with a high-volume surgical team across multiple specialties.

The role requires an Associate Degree in Nursing, active RN license in Colorado, and strong communication skills. Preferred candidates may have OR experience and a BSN, with 1 year of experience. Schedule includes 36 hours/week with call shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate competency in IVs, wound care, medications, catheterization, and specimen collection.
  • Maintain confidential patient records and document status, interventions, and outcomes; use IT to communicate and support decisions.
  • Advocate for patient health and rights; collaborate with the care team.
  • Provide patient/family education, assess learning readiness, and teach effectively.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our RN, you will assume responsibility for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team and patient/family to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient, advancing modern nursing through compassionate care.   • Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data. Evaluates patient’s response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome.
  • Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including, but not limited to, IV's, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
  • Thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records. Document ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes in an accurate, timely manner. Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making.
  • Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health and safety and rights of each patient.
  • Provide patient/family education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness, needs, and ability. Provide teaching and evaluate effectiveness of teaching.

We are offering a $20,000 Sign on bonus in addition up to $10,000 relocation assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

Schedule: 36hrs/wk- Days- variable days of the week and shift start times per surgical volume and current unit needs. Call required approx. 4 call shifts in 6 week schedule block. Typically, no weekend call unless covering team members PTO. 30Min Callback radius Required.

Job Requirements
  • Associates Degree in Nursing; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
  • RN License in state of employment
  • Physical Requirements: Medium Work exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10lbs. constantly
Preferred
  • Previous OR experience highly preferred
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing
  • One (1) year experience
Where You'll Work

As a Registered Nurses in the Operating Room at St. Anthony Hospital you will provide direct patient advocacy and clinical support across a high-volume surgical department, which includes 17 suites - featuring a designated trauma room, a hybrid room, a CVOR, and a cystoscopy suite. The facility manages approximately 900-950 cases per month across a wide range of specialties, including General, Ortho (Trauma), Neuro, Spine, Eyes, ENT, GU, Robotics (DaVinci XI/SI), Vascular, Endovascular, Cardiac, and OB/GYN. While there is a specialized team for cardiac and neuro procedures, all other RNs are cross-trained for all remaining surgical services. Daily duties include performing circulating functions, providing intraoperative support such as managing sterile instruments and supplies, facilitating room turnovers, and restocking for subsequent procedures.
