Overview

RN Clinical Coordinator Operating Room at CommonSpirit Health in the Mountain Region. Embrace your purpose and unique talents as part of a large nonprofit, faith-based health system serving Colorado, Utah, and Kansas. This role supports the department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit; you will act as a clinical nurse and resource to staff, authorize work procedures and assign duties, and serve as shift charge.

Duties
  • Demonstrating strong clinical judgment and ensuring high-quality care delivery to each patient.
  • Acting as a vital link between physicians and the patient care team to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Maintaining communication and promoting cooperation with unit staff and other departments.
  • Providing input and recommendations to the director/manager on coaching, mentoring and performance management of associates.
  • Assuming responsibility for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team and patient/family to meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
  • Acting as a professional role model by demonstrating ethical/legal/professional nursing.
  • Promoting the optimal health, well-being, and safety of the patient through the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and the State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Actively serving on unit as a registered nurse and may take patient assignments based on unit and patient needs and acuity.
  • Being accountable for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
  • Previous OR experience across multiple service lines required.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
Day To Day
  • Run front desk in the OR.
  • Ensure assignments for staff meet the daily need; schedule the next day’s assignments.
  • Communicate case changes to staff, support, and coach staff to build confidence and growth.
  • Hold staff accountable to policy and high standard of practice.
  • Collaborate with the lead Anesthesiologist on daily case flow and efficiency.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of educational programs/practices for department associates.
  • Act as leadership within the department to support staff, Manager and Director.
  • Assist in other OR areas as needed; take on clinical roles such as taking over rooms when needed and preparing rooms for next day’s cases.
Qualifications

Education
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (Nursing Diploma or by endorsement) required
  • BSN preferred
Licensure
  • RN License to practice in state of employment as applicable, required
  • Nursing Specialty Certification preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of direct clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
Physical Requirements
  • Medium Work - Exert up to 50 lbs occasionally, up to 20 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs constantly.
Schedule and Compensation

Pay Range: $37.31 - $59.51 per hour

Schedule: 40 hrs/week; variable shift times/days per surgical volume and unit needs

Call: Approx. 4-6 call shifts per 6-week schedule block; weekend call and call back radius as specified
