Job summary

Commonspirit-Health's Penrose Hospital Surgery Department seeks an RN Clinical Coordinator to actively support department leadership by coordinating clinical and departmental activities. You will provide clinical judgment, ensure high-quality care, and act as a key link between physicians and the patient care team, guiding shift operations and patient assignments.

The role requires an RN with strong clinical skills, leadership potential, and a commitment to ethical practice and quality patient

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing or by endorsement.
• One (1) year of clinical RN experience.
• RN license to practice in state of employment as applicable.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Nursing Specialty Certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs and ensure optimal patient outcome.
• Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes with interdisciplinary team.
• Provide leadership and coordination of unit operations during shift.
• Direct, organize, and prioritize all shift activities to meet patient care and staff needs.
• Ensure appropriate admissions and staff mix for safe patient care.
• Act as liaison to the multidisciplinary patient care team.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our RN Clinical Coordinator, you will actively support the department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit, serving as a vital clinical resource and professional role model.

Every day you will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, ensure high-quality care delivery, act as a crucial link between physicians and the patient care team, authorize work procedures, assign duties, manage as shift charge, and actively take patient assignments based on unit needs and acuity, all while promoting patient well-being and adhering to professional standards.

To be successful in this role, you will be a Registered Nurse with exceptional clinical skills, strong leadership potential, superior communication and collaboration abilities, and an unwavering commitment to ethical practice, quality patient care, and a supportive team environment.

• Assesses patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data. Evaluates patient’s response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome.
• Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provides leadership, support, and coordination of unit’s daily operations during designated shift.
• Assists in directing, organizing, and prioritizing all shift activities ensuring patient care and staff needs are met.
• Ensures appropriateness of admissions/cases to the unit/department and that appropriate staff skill mix exists to provide safe patient care.
• Liaison to the multidisciplinary patient care team.

We are offering a $20,000 sign on bonus in addition to up to $8,000 relocation assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

The Surgery Department at Penrose Hospital has 16 OR suites and performs 30 - 40 cases per day. We specialize in heart, vascular, general, gynecology, urology, ortho, spine, neuro, plastics, robotics, and trauma procedures on adult patients only.
