Job summary

DMC Harper University/Hutzel Women's Hospital in Detroit is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our clinical care team. This full-time role includes leadership responsibilities, staff coordination, and participation in care delivery improvement under the guidance of the Administrative Director and Clinical Manager.

The position requires an Associate degree or diploma in nursing with Michigan RN licensure, 1–2 years of leadership experience, and current BLS (ACLS preferred).

Qualifications

• Associates Degree/Diploma required. BSN preferred.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Michigan.
• 1–2 years of progressively higher leadership experience.
• Ability to prioritize, delegate, and facilitate processes.
• Promoting Excellence Performance Criteria level 6 preferred for internal candidates.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Functions as lead and resource person for nursing personnel and coordinates staff.
• Collaborates on scheduling to maintain appropriate nurse-patient ratios.
• Facilitates unit throughput and improves length of stay.
• Provides in-service programs to maintain staff competence.
• Assists with staff interviews, retention, mentoring, and evaluation.
• Contributes to policies, procedures, and departmental standards.
• Supports department process improvement and peer review.
