BASC Bridgewater Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking an RN Clinical Coordinator to oversee clinical care delivery and nursing departments. You will plan, coordinate and supervise staff, ensuring adherence to care standards and policies.

Responsibilities include directing patient care in the OR, Pre-Op/PACU, and supporting quality improvement, risk management and ongoing staff education. NJ RN license required with preferred OR supervisory experience.

Hiring Range: $46.00 - $61.75 Hourly

JOB SUMMARY - RN Clinical Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of clinical care delivery in the facility. Plans, coordinates and oversees the responsibilities and functions of the nursing departments in caring for all age patients. Assists in setting and enacting appropriate standards of care. Directs nursing care within prevailing national and state standard of practice and the policies of the Center. Works closely with DON and assists in making decisions regarding staffing, hiring, counseling, projects and audits. In the event, the Administrator and or Clinical Director are out of the facility, responsibilities for center operations and day-to-day activities will be delegated to the RN Clinical Coordinator. May have additional responsibilities designated by the Administrator, or Clinical Director.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Baccalaureate degree in nursing or related field preferred. Currently licensed in the state of New Jersey. Basic life support certification required, advanced life support certification preferred. Three years' experience in OR setting and prior supervisory experience preferred. Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership and teaching capabilities. Physically and emotionally capable of performing the responsibilities of the position.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must be physically able to stand or walk for long periods of time. Must have good communication and interpersonal skills. Must have a broad understanding of the nursing care needs of the surgical and anesthesia specialties. Maintains professional conduct and appearance. Ability to develop relations with center administrators and teammates, to work well with physicians and physician groups providing recommendations to resolve issues, when necessary. Interacts with patients, families, visitors, vendors, etc. must be in a manner that is friendly, supportive, courteous, and respectful. Demonstrates emotional stability, self-motivation; and the ability to make independent decisions and to suggest alternative solutions to problems encountered.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Knows and adheres to, and enforces all policies of the Center.
  • Supervises, evaluates and counsels nursing department personnel in direct areas. Assists Clinical Director/Administrator in establishing and interpreting standards, policies, procedures, goals and objectives for peri-operative nursing care to accepted standards. Ability to set priorities
  • Works with the Clinical Director to prepare time schedules and provides for safe and adequate staff coverage in an economical manner.
  • Participates in the orientation of all nursing/clinical department personnel.
  • Makes rounds in all patient care areas and assists nursing staff in planning nursing care.
  • Ensures provision of patient care daily in an organized and timely manner.
  • Provides direct patient care in all clinical areas as needed, as a circulating/scrub nurse in the OR, Pre-Op/PACU RN, and demonstrates necessary clinical competence. Responsible for ongoing accreditation programs in areas of quality improvement, risk management, infection control, facility and fire safety and staff education for the facility.
  • Actively participates in all reporting procedures.
  • Actively participates in appropriate committees and QAPI activities.
  • Provide risk management support to the team to develop a seamless connection with clinical quality, risk management, and operational strategies.
  • Demonstrates a complete understanding of established emergency procedures for the facility.
  • Follows OSHA and other standards for protection against blood-borne pathogens.
  • Uses good body mechanics and aseptic techniques.
  • Remains calm and functions as a team member during times of stress and crisis situations.
  • Seeks involvement in activities that promote professional growth and behavior and promotes and assists employees in the same.
  • Participates in educational programs for the nursing/clinical staff.
  • Provides in-service as requested by management.
  • Initiates nursing staff peer review, and annual competency.
  • Attends all staff meetings and maintains minutes.
  • Participates in scheduled performance appraisals and demonstrates dedication to ongoing performance improvement.
  • Attends professional training seminars when appropriate for job development and shares information with other teammates.
  • Informs Clinical Director/Administrator of applicable day-to-day situations.
  • Provides notification for unscheduled absences or tardiness in accordance with established departmental procedures as noted by supervisor.
  • Requests scheduled time off according to procedure as noted by supervisor.
  • Maintains work area and equipment in a neat, organized manner.
  • Provides input re: equipment needs/supply needs and demonstrates sound cost containment techniques.
  • Assists with housekeeping tasks as necessary to provide a safe environment for patients, teammates, physicians, guests.
  • Demonstrateand support others to maintain Center's values, including: Clinical Excellence, Integrity, Service Excellence, Teamwork, Accountability, Continuous Improvement.
  • Personal computer knowledge including, but not limited to, word processing program, spread sheet programs, and electronic calendars.
  • Ability to analyze complex clinical situations and deal with conflict and people who are upset. Provides a calming influence in difficult situations. Excellent interpersonal skills required.
  • Diffuses/resolves conflict by appropriately communicating with those involved.
  • Accepts constructive criticism and gives suggestions in a professional manner. Ability to facilitate groups and teams. Ability to make independent judgments and pay close attention to detail.
