Job summary

Scripps Health is seeking a Dermatology RN to join the Mission Valley and Liberty Station Dermatology teams in San Diego. The role combines direct patient care with coordination of biologic therapies and prior authorizations in a supportive, team-based environment.

Requires ADN or Nursing Diploma and CA RN license; BSN preferred. The position is generally Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with travel to other sites as needed. Pay range is competitive for the San Diego area.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as Dermatology RN.
• Lead LVNs and MAs; coordinate biologic therapies and prior authorizations.
• 60% administrative duties (phones, Epic messaging, authorizations) and 40% direct patient care.
• Run nurse clinic and floors; ensure excellent patient experience.
• Collaborate with care team to optimize patient care.

What You'll Do

• Function as the sole RN in the clinic, providing direct patient care, leading a team of LVNs and MAs, and ensuring the seamless coordination of biologic therapies and prior authorizations.
• In-basket management and triage.
• This position is about 60% administrative (phones, epic messaging, prior authorizations and appeals, etc) and 40% direct, face-to-face patient care.
• Run the nurse clinic as well as work the floor.
• Ensure Scripps patients and their families have an exceptional health care experience.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Patient care includes compliance with patient assessments and care tasks, triaging, completion of clinical procedures, emergency protocols and medication administration.
• Work collaboratively with the other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills

• ADN or Nursing Diploma

Required Certification/Registration

• CA RN license
• American Heart Association BLS

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification

• BSN
• RN working experience in Dermatology to include Botox for Hyperhidrosis and PDT application
• RN Clinic/Outpatient experience
• Dermatology experience as an LVN or MA
• Pediatrics experience

Position Pay Range: $51.66-$74.92/hour
