Christie Clinic's Hematology-Oncology department seeks a full-time Registered Nurse - Chemotherapy for the University clinic in Champaign, IL. Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8:00am–5:00pm, with no night or weekend requirements and a sign-on bonus.

You will administer chemotherapy and other medications, prepare equipment, monitor patient responses, and educate patients and families. An IL RN license and CPR are required; ONS card preferred or obtainable within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Illinois RN license and CPR certification.
• Current or within 6 months: ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy provider card.
• Health-related courses/CEUs completed annually.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per nursing standards.
• Prepare equipment and assist provider during treatment/exam/testing.
• Observe, record and report patient condition and reaction to meds.
• Instruct patient and family on medications, treatment instructions, and education.
• Respond to triage calls using nursing assessment; administer IVs for chemo/phlebotomy.

# RN - Chemotherapy - Hematology-OncologyUniversity (LLC) - Champaign, IL 61820Education Level2-Year Degree## General Summary of DutiesChristie Clinic's department of Hematology-Oncology is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse - Chemotherapy **(Sign-On Bonus Available)** from Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm at the University clinic, with no night or weekend requirements. You will deliver care to cancer patients and our commitment to excellence and cutting-edge treatments.Duties include the provision of professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices, safely administers chemotherapeutic agents within our chemotherapy suite, provide professional case management of oral chemotherapy patient population. Current ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy provider card (or ability to achieve within 6 months of employment) is required and Professional nursing experience is highly preferred.## Job Qualifications and Expectations**JOB DUTIES:** (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)* Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider.* Prepare equipment and aid provider during treatment, examination and/or testing of the patient.* Observe, record and report patient’s condition and reaction to medication and/or treatment to provider.* Act as a liaison between the patient and provider regarding complaints, concerns, etc.* Instruct patient and family regarding medication, treatment instructions and patient education.* Demonstrate the ability to respond to triage calls using nursing assessment.* Administer IV’s for Chemotherapy and/or Phlebotomy.* Perform related work as directed, by coordinator and as required.**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:*** Graduation from an accredited school of nursing* Evidence of annual completion of health-related courses and/or seminars with a certificate and/or CEU’s**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:*** Hospital or ambulatory nursing experience* Professional nursing experience with hematology-oncology populations* Chemotherapy administration skills.* Current ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy provider card or ability to achieve during employment.**CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:*** Possession of an Illinois State Registered Nurse License* CPR Certification**TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 75 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.**TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:**Work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances and bodily fluids.
