Job summary

UF Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide nursing care to patients using the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse. The RN will perform staff nurse duties and may serve as charge nurse when assigned, maintaining accountability for assigned patients.

Responsibilities include coordinating with Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, and Sitters, and ensuring assignments are appropriate to patient age and developmental level.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Florida or confirmation letter establishing eligibility for issuance upon receipt of SSN.
• BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross on the first day of employment is required for all areas.
• ACLS from the American Heart Association is required at hire or transfer for designated departments.
• ACLS/PALS within six months for other departments as specified.
• PALS from the American Heart Association is required within six months for specific units.
• Crisis Prevention Institute training within ninety days, then annually, is required for Psych Unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients using the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse.
• Perform all staff nurse activities and function as charge nurse when assigned.
• Maintain accountability for assigned patients, even when tasks are delegated.
• Coordinate care with Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, and Sitters.
• Assignments are made appropriate to age and developmental level of patients.
