Job summary

UF Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide care to patients using the nursing process and professional standards. The RN maintains accountability for assigned patients and may act as charge nurse when assigned.

The role requires an Associate's Degree with BSN preferred; Florida licensure and BLS are required on start, with ACLS and PALS training as specified. Ideal candidates have clinical experience and demonstrate teamwork and strong communication within the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups.
• Required Education: Associate's Degree; Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• New hires effective June 14, 2017, must have a BSN degree within 3 years of hire or transfer.
• Preferred Education: BSN
• Necessary Skills: 1. Demonstrates teamwork and communicates professionally with the healthcare team. 2. Learns and applies computer technologies and procedures affecting patient care.
• Required Licensure/Certifications: Licensed to practice nursing in Florida; BLS from AHA/ARC on first day; ACLS in specified departments; PALS within six months for PICU and Trauma Center; Crisis prevention CPI within 90 days.
• Preferred Licensure/Certifications: Professional certification preferred.
• Required Experience: Less than one year of related experience.
• Preferred Experience: One year of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients using the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse.
• Function as charge nurse when assigned; maintain accountability for assigned patients even when tasks are delegated.
