Covenant Woods in Mechanicsville, VA seeks a seasoned RN to supervise nursing staff and coordinate resident care on the designated tour. You will ensure professional nursing care in line with policies, mentor CNAs, and manage unit operations while upholding the Covenant Woods standards.

The role emphasizes staffing oversight, adherence to regulations, and collaboration with physicians to optimize resident outcomes. A strong clinical background and CPR certification are required.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact multistate license.
• Minimum of two years’ nursing experience.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsabilidades

• Evaluate staffing needs on the shift and plan daily staff assignments.
• Transcribe, verify and implement physician orders.
• Collaborate with staff to develop plan of care and assess residents.
• Make rounds to ensure resident care, safety and staff performance.
• Prepare and distribute meds, monitor IVs, perform treatments and CPR.
• Report changes to physician, supervisor and family.
• Act as a role model and resource for staff; assist as needed.
• Counsel or discipline CNAs per policy.
• Document incidents and complete all required documentation.

FULL-TIME OPPORTUNITY IN HEALTH CARE

Pay Range: $40.00–$50.00 per hour, based on years of experience

Shifts Available: Day Shift

Schedule: All shifts are 8 hours, with a two-week rotating schedule that includes every other weekend.

• Week 1: Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
• Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday

Position Summary

Will supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing personnel in performing effective resident care on the designated tour of duty. Provides professional nursing care to residents in accordance with facility policies and procedures. Is familiar with applicable regulations. Will supervise and coordinate the activities of certified nursing assistants in performing effective resident care on the designated tour of duty. Maintains clinical and professional competency. Assists with the managerial aspects of the unit, including quality assessments, problem solving, motivation of staff and evaluations. Essential Job Responsibilities

• Evaluates staffing needs on the given shift and plans daily staff assignments.
• Transcribes, verifies and implements physician’s orders.
• Collaborates with staff in developing appropriate plan of care, assesses needs and performs physical assessment of residents.
• Makes regular rounds to assure resident care, environmental safety and employee performance.
• Prepares and distributes meds, starts and monitors I.V.s and performs treatments, CPR; collects blood samples and performs EKG’s as ordered by physician.
• Reports significant changes in condition to physician, supervisor and family
• Acts as a role model and resource for staff; assists staff as appropriate.
• Counsels and/or disciplines CNAs per facility policy.
• Documents episodic events on residents as well as completing all pertinent documentation, including checking MARs, Treatment Sheets and Monthly Summaries
• Attends a minimum of 24 hours of education and/or CEUs annually, including mandatory in-services. Certified in CPR. Attends 8 of 12 staff meetings yearly
• Responds in patient, courteous and cooperative manner to residents, staff and public
• May be ask to Supervise Nursing when needed.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations and resident satisfaction.

Requirements

Required

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or an active compact multistate RN.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a nursing role.
• Current BLS certification.

Preferred

• Minimum of one (1) years’ experience in an RN role.
• Experience in a Continuing Care and Retirement Community (CCRC) or Healthcare setting is highly desirable.
