The RN Clinical Charge Nurse is responsible for directing and overseeing the daily activities of the unit on an assigned shift to ensure the safe delivery of care. The Charge Nurse often takes modified patient care assignments and practices in a clinical environment supported by Nurse Managers and the WellStar Shared Governance Model. This role involves leadership, coordination, and collaboration to promote high-quality, safe, patient-centered care, aligning with the WellStar Professional Nursing Practice Model and evidence-based practices. The RN Clinical Charge Nurse is a proactive team member who ensures effective patient care, resource utilization, and staff development, including tasks such as staff scheduling, unit flow management, clinical expertise, physician rounding, and committee involvement. The role also involves building rapport between nurses and physicians, serving as a role model, and upholding nursing standards per the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics. The nurse supports system policies and promotes culturally aware, age-appropriate patient care.
Kennestone Hospital
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree/Diploma or BSN preferred).
Minimum 1 year nursing experience required; 2 years preferred. Experience as relief charge nurse and clinical expertise preferred.
