Job summary

ARMStaffing is hiring skilled Cardiac Care Unit Registered Nurses (RNs) for travel and local contract opportunities across the U.S. As a specialized ICU nurse, you’ll provide critical care to post-operative cardiac patients recovering from procedures such as bypass surgery, valve repair, or heart transplants.

Active RN license in state or compact, 1–2 years ICU with CCU experience, BLS/ACLS required (CCRNs preferred).

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of practice or compact license.
• Minimum 1–2 years ICU experience, with at least 1 year in CCU.
• BLS and ACLS certification required; CCRN preferred.
• Strong knowledge of post-op cardiac protocols, hemodynamic monitoring and telemetry.
• Experience with critical care equipment (e.g., Swan-Ganz, balloon pump, CVP lines).
• Familiarity with Epic, Cerner, or similar EMR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients in a high-acuity ICU setting.
• Monitor cardiac status, vital signs, and EKGs; respond to arrhythmias and emergencies.
• Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage ventilators.
• Collaborate with cardiologists and surgical teams to ensure optimal recovery outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using hospital EMR systems.
• Educate patients and families on cardiac procedures, recovery expectations, and care plans.
