Corewell Health in Grand Rapids is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for the Butterworth Campus. You will deliver nursing care within a 24-bed Prep/Recovery unit supporting Cath Lab and EP procedures, with day shifts 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. You’ll work with a small team, providing reliable patient care from admission to discharge.

Requirements include an RN license in Michigan, an Associate degree in Nursing, and BLS; BSN timing depends on start date. ACLS is required within 180 days of hire.

Qualifications

• RN license in Michigan is required.
• Associate degree in nursing is required.
• BSN must be completed within 5 years for recent hires and within 7 years for older hires.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care per ANA standards with accountability.
• Apply the nursing process: assess, diagnose, plan, implement, evaluate.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and quality care.

Job description

This role is working one 10 hour shift every other week. 3 MHC is a 24 bed Prep/Recovery unit at Meijer Heart Center that prepares and recovers both outpatients and inpatients for their Cath and Electrophysiology Lab procedures. The unit is open from 6am – 9pm. The majority of 3 Heart outpatients are discharged the same day and is cared for by the same staff from arrival to discharge. We perform a wide range of procedures on 3MHC, including, electrophysiology, diagnostic and interventional cardiology, structural heart, and peripheral. Team members hired onto 3MHC will gain knowledge in all of these specialties. In addition, we perform diagnostic and follow up care to our heart and lung transplant patients, creating an opportunity for long term relationships with this patient population. Our team are experts at IV starts, time management, and managing vascular access sites. Nurses are often drawn to this unit due to the camaraderie and true sense of team work. We have a small team, and work alongside nurses, nurse techs, doctors, PA's, and cardiovascular technicians.

Summary Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.

Basic Qualifications

• Associate's Degree Nursing - Required
• Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing must be obtained within 5 years for those who start in this RN role on or after January 1, 2017 (SH Grand Rapids) - Required
• Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing must be obtained within 7 years for those who start in this RN role between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2016 (SH Grand Rapids) - Required
• Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program - Required
• Registered Nurse (RN) License in State of Michigan - Required
• Upon Hire Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
• Within 90 days Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Required within 180 days

Preferred Qualifications

• Clinical Area of Specialty Certification Preferred
