Corewell Health in Grand Rapids is seeking an experienced RN to join the Cardiology/Heart & Vascular team. You will provide direct patient care, perform nursing assessments, develop individualized care plans, and collaborate with clinicians to improve cardiovascular outcomes for our patients.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred), MI RN license, BLS and ACLS within 90 days; prior cardiology or ICU experience is preferred.

• BLS and ACLS certifications within 90 days of hire.
• Cardiology or ICU experience preferred.

Cardiovascular Medicine is the largest outpatient care center for all cardiovascular disorders. We have 50+ physicians and 50+ advanced practice providers that see patients mainly in the 13-county service area. Our providers cover both outpatient and inpatient care inclusive of a variety of invasive and non-invasive procedures, cardiovascular testing and monitoring and multi-disciplinary care. Scope of Work

• As a Nurse with Corewell Health, providing top-notch patient care is paramount.
• You’ll use your critical thinking skills and the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• You’ll be responsible for upholding the standards of nursing excellence as described by the ANA, including the code of ethics.
• You’ll be a vital member of our team and strive to achieve the best possible outcomes, making a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families.
• Assesses and monitors the overall needs of patients / family.
• Documents nursing care / teaching consistent with documentation guidelines.
• Ensures that required documentation for activities within areas of responsibility is performed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Develops / maintains an individualized patient plan of care with the patient and consistent with patient / family changing needs / goals, reflecting the full scope of practice.
• Delivers care in a manner that is culturally sensitive and preserves patient autonomy, dignity and rights.
• Articulates the professional nursing role to the patient, family and health team members.
• Communicates with other members of the health care team, including triage of incoming calls, in order to ensure continuity and coordination of care.
• Acts as a patient / family advocate.
• Initiates patient discharge planning at time of patient contact and facilitates a smooth transition to the next point of service / home.
• Identifies, facilitates, and evaluates outcomes of nursing care for an individual patient or group of patients.
• Evaluates patients’ and family educational needs; develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or makes appropriate referrals.
• Provides evidence-based nursing care consistent with the plan of care, guidelines of care, physician orders, and in accordance with health system policies, procedures, and ANA / regulatory standards.
• Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior.
• Formulates decisions and actions based on ethical principles, using the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide practice.
• Advocates for privacy, confidentiality and security of patient, staff and organization data.
• Assumes an autonomous leadership role and delegates appropriately to support staff to facilitate safe, quality patient care in a cost-effective manner.
• Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the application of clinical paths, QI processes, and other related activities.

• Ambulatory Surgery Center, pre/post/PACU nurses only, Pediatric Cardiology - Lansing 180 Days required
• CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry - NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care Big Rapids - Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab 90 Days preferred
• Ideal candidate would be an RN with Cardiology or ICU experience or strong passion for Cardio Patient Population
