Job summary

NorthWest EMS is seeking a part-time registered nurse for the Staunton Clinic to coordinate services and provide nursing support to a psychiatric team. The role includes triage, screening for medication issues, and advocating for patients with mental illness and intellectual disabilities.

A PA RN license, BLS, and 3 years in a psychiatric setting are required. Flexible 24 hours per week, no weekends, with clearances completed prior to employment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; current Pennsylvania license.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a psychiatric setting.
• Successful completion of required clearances before employment (HR-106).
• Valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
• Knowledge/ability to assess and utilize community resources.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate services, education, advocacy and direct care to individuals with mental illness and/or intellectual disabilities to support recovery.
• Provide nursing support to the psychiatric team, including triage and screening related to medications, symptoms, and patient concerns.

Job description

Department: Staunton Clinic

Work Hours: 24 hours per week (minimum). This is a flex schedule, days/hours can change based on coverage needs. No weekends.

Basic Function: Coordination of services, education, advocacy and direct care to individuals with mental illness/intellectual disabilities and their families who require supports to support recovery and increase community tenure within the least restrictive setting across the continuum of care. Provides nursing support to the psychiatric team completing Triage/screening for all incoming calls related to medication/symptoms/patient concerns.

Qualifications

Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Pennsylvania license. Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 prior to commencing employment. BLS certification. Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license. Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a psychiatric setting. Recent experience in case management, UR, or D/C planning. Knowledge/ability to assess and utilize community resources.

Preferred: Knowledge of venipuncture, Clozaril monitoring and decanoate injections.
