Job summary

The incumbent will perform assessments, plan and implement care, and coordinate with physicians and care staff. They should have an associate degree or nursing diploma, with BSN in progress preferred, and may participate in the Nurse Residency Program.

Qualifications

• A minimum of an associate in Nursing or diploma of Nursing degree.
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire.
• Must have six (6) or more months of relevant nursing experience OR be an active participant in Hackensack Meridian Health's Nurse Residency Program.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team to a variety of patients.
• Coordinate patient care and unit activities among nursing peers, physicians and support services.
• Perform comprehensive data collection, assessment and planning of care for patients.
• Administer medications and document using bar-scanning and electronic systems.
• Provide patient/family education and discharge planning to ensure safe transition of care.
