Qualifications

• A minimum of an associate in Nursing or diploma of Nursing degree.
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire.
• Six (6) or more months of relevant nursing experience OR active participation in Hackensack Meridian Health's Nurse Residency Program.
• Ability to learn quickly, strong accountability, teamwork, ongoing education and commitment to high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or the situation.
• Perform age- and disease-specific assessment/data collection independently.
• Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes in patient status.
• Identify education needs based on age, disease, and learning differences.
• Develop and coordinate a plan of care with patient/family involvement.
• Communicate and implement the plan of care across the health care team.
• Provide ongoing communication with patient/family and nursing colleagues.
• Deliver nursing care and treatments reflecting patient needs and standards.
• Document assessments, plan-of-care, interventions and evaluations.
• Medication administration using bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
• Discharge patients with safe transitioning and continuum of care.
• Identify ethical issues and opportunities to enhance patient satisfaction.
• Maintain competencies and continuing education to meet licensing/accreditation requirements.
