Job summary

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in state.
• Minimum of three (3) years experience in program-specific nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assists in ensuring efficient operations including placement of patients and staffing of the nursing units.
• Acts as leader for the department and liaison between staff and manager.
• Provides support and direction to unit staff and participates in delivery of patient care as needed.
• Assesses, monitors, recognizes and proposes solutions to maintain department operations.
• Collaborates with other leaders to facilitate throughput throughout the organization.
• Mentors staff and supports participation in shared governance meetings and projects.
• Assists in the quality improvement process.
• Assists in unit administration including budget, supplies, regulatory compliance, data collection & reporting.
• Provides input in personnel issues including hiring, scheduling, orienting, disciplining, appraising, and terminating employees.
• Maintains professional knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing publications.
