Job summary

McLaren Health Care, headquartered in Grand Blanc, Michigan, seeks a Coordinator Patient Care Services for the Nursing Float Pool. The role supports Nursing Directors, coordinates staffing and patient placement across units, and leads staff with a focus on throughput and quality improvements.

Responsibilities include budget and regulatory tasks, personnel management, and ongoing professional development to ensure high standards of care and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in state.
• Minimum of three (3) years experience in program-specific nursing.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assists in ensuring efficient operations including placement of patients and staffing of the nursing units.
• Acts as leader for the department and liaison between staff and manager.
• Acts as a resource person and provides support and direction to unit staff.
• Participates in delivery of patient care as needed.
• Assesses, monitors, recognizes and proposes solutions and takes the appropriate corrective actions to maintain department operations.
• Collaborates with other leaders tofacilitate throughput throughout the organization
• Mentors staff. Supports and facilitates participation of staff in shared governance meetings and projects.
• Assists in the quality improvement process.
• Assists in the administration of the unit including budget, supplies, regulatory compliance, policies & procedures, data collection & reporting, and the like.
• Provides input and participates in personnel issues including hiring, scheduling, orienting, disciplining, appraising, and terminating employees.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies..
• Assists in covering open shifts when needed.
• Performs other related duties as required and directed.
