Job summary

Mercy is seeking motivated registered nurses to join the 3E Cardiovascular ICU. You will provide direct nursing care for cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients, perform assessments, and coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced ICU environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program.
• RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in 3E Cardiovascular ICU for cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients.
• Monitor post-operative patients and manage vital signs, drains, meds, and pain control.
• Perform routine assessments, documentation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

3E Cardiovascular ICU:

3E is the Cardiovascular and Surgical ICU. We care for all cardiothoracic, vascular, general, and head/neck surgery patients requiring ICU admission. Some common patients we care for are:

• CABG and Valve Repair/Replacement
• Vascular Stent and Bypasses
• Cardiogenic Shock
• STEMI/NSTEMI
• Radical Neck Dissection
• General Surgery

Qualifications:

Education:

Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program

Licensure:

Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Physical requirements/demands:

• Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
