This role is full-time nights in our Cardiac Telemetry unit at Cobb Hospital.

Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are eligible.

Job Summary

The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team that ensures patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, high-quality, safe care. They practice in a clinical environment supported by Nurse Managers and the Wellstar Shared Governance Model, guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model and evidence-based research. RN competencies are derived from these models and aligned with Wellstar Values.

All RN Clinical Nurses must be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the standards outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics. They are expected to advocate for patients, adhere to policies, and support service excellence.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Perform nursing assessments, diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation using evidence-based practice, critical thinking, and individualized care, coordinating with the care team to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care respecting cultural diversity and patient-specific characteristics.
  • Partner with patients and families through effective communication methods, including bedside reports, rounds, and education, focusing on patient goals.
  • Practice according to current clinical standards.
Teamwork and Collaboration
  • Coordinate safe, quality care documentation and delivery, promoting respectful and inclusive communication and environment.
  • Demonstrate teamwork that is fiscally responsible, supporting staff recruitment and retention.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities, research, and shared governance.
Professional Development
  • Complete required competency assessments and education.
  • Serve as preceptor or mentor to support workforce development and a healthy work environment.
Evidence-Based Practice and Research
  • Promote research and performance improvement, participate in data collection, and utilize evidence to improve practice.
  • Adhere to organizational policies, standards, and accreditation requirements, including safety goals.
Resources and Support
  • Plan patient care across the continuum and develop protocols for best practice outcomes.
  • Support efficient resource use.

Other duties as assigned and compliance with all policies and standards.

Minimum Education
  • Associates or Bachelors in Nursing (preferred).
Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Nurse (Single State or Multi-state Compact).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience
  • Less than 1 year of clinical experience required; completion of accredited nursing program with clinical hours.
