Job Summary

The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team ensuring high-quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment supported by Nurse Managers and the Wellstar Shared Governance Model, guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• Performs the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, implementation, evaluation) using evidence-based practice and critical thinking, ensuring individualized care and effective partnerships.
• Provides relationship-based, patient-centered care respecting cultural diversity.
• Partners with patients and families through bedside reports, rounds, and education, focusing on patient goals.
• Practices according to current clinical standards.

Teamwork and Collaboration

• Coordinates safe, quality care with effective interdisciplinary communication and documentation.
• Practices fiscally responsible teamwork to promote recruitment and retention.
• Participates in performance improvement, research, and shared governance activities.

• Completes competency assessments and mandatory education.
• Serves as preceptor or mentor to support workforce development.

Minimum Education

• Associate's or Bachelor's Nursing degree (Bachelor's preferred)

Minimum License and Certification

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Experience

Less than 1 year of clinical experience or completion of accredited nursing program is required. Direct patient care experience is preferred.
