This role is full-time nights in our Cardiac Telemetry unit at Cobb Hospital. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are eligible.

Job Summary

The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team ensuring high-quality, safe patient care. They practice under the guidance of Nurse Managers and are supported through the Wellstar Shared Governance Model, guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by Wellstar Values.

All RN Clinical Nurses must be licensed, knowledgeable, and adhere to the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, the Scope of Practice, and the Code of Ethics by the American Nurses Association. They uphold patient advocacy, system policies, and service excellence.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Performs the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, implementation, evaluation) using evidence-based practice and critical thinking, ensuring individualized care and effective partnerships.
  • Delivers relationship-based, patient-centered care tailored to population-specific characteristics, respecting cultural diversity.
  • Partners with patients and families through methods like bedside reports, rounds, and education, focusing on patient goals.
  • Practices according to current clinical standards.
Teamwork and Collaboration
  • Coordinates safe, quality care documentation and delivery, promoting respectful interdisciplinary communication and a positive clinical environment.
  • Practices fiscally responsible teamwork to support recruitment and retention.
  • Supports performance improvement initiatives, research, and shared governance activities.
Professional Development and Initiative
  • Completes required competency assessments and education.
  • Serves as preceptor or mentor to foster a qualified workforce and healthy work environment.
Evidence-Based Practice and Research
  • Promotes research and performance improvement, participating in data collection and clinical questions.
  • Adheres to healthcare policies, standards, and accreditation requirements, including safety goals.
Resources and Support
  • Plans patient care across the continuum and develops protocols to improve outcomes.
  • Supports resource efficiency.
Minimum Education and Licensure
  • Associates or Bachelors in Nursing preferred.
  • Current RN license (single state or multi-state compact).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Experience and Skills
  • Less than 1 year of clinical experience preferred; completion of accredited nursing program required.
